Kio DJ (Diego Bolívar Melo) is a Colombian DJ, producer, and artist based in Dubai. Known for his work in reggaeton and open format music, Kio DJ has been steadily building a presence in Dubai’s music scene. He had the opportunity to be the first Colombian DJ to perform in Saudi Arabia and has been honored with the Golden Visa from the UAE Ministry of Culture. He also works as an honorary club music mix engineer for Dolby Atmos and is a Voting Member of the Latin Grammy Awards. Early Life and Musical Journey Kio DJ’s passion for music began at a young age. At 15, he formed his first musical group and started performing at local events in Bogotá. In 2006, he signed his first recording contract with Flamingo Records and Diamond Music, releasing songs like "Bomba (Lil Slim)" and "Palabras del Alma," the latter featuring Karol G. Creation of Afro-Colombian House Since 2021, Kio DJ has been working on creating Afro-Colombian House, a subgenre that blends traditional Colombian rhythms with house beats. Some of his tracks include: "Afro Juana" "Afro Skola" "Sacar Del Alma" "Estebana (Currucucu)" "Desierto Latino (Habibi)" These tracks have been appreciated by fans and critics alike. Recognition and Achievements Kio DJ is proud to have been the first Colombian DJ to: Perform in Saudi Arabia after the country’s entertainment reforms. Receive the Golden Visa from the UAE Ministry of Culture. Be recognized as an honorary club music mix engineer for Dolby Atmos. Additionally, he is a Voting Member of the Latin Grammy Awards, contributing to the recognition of Latin music worldwide.
