DMCA & Copyright Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

1. Overview

DJ.COMMUNITY ("Platform", "we", "us", "our") respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This policy explains our approach to handling copyrighted content, the role of our platform, and procedures for reporting copyright concerns.

2. No Hosting of Content

It is important to understand that DJ.COMMUNITY does not host, store, or serve any music files, videos, or other protected content. All audio, video, and media content available through our platform consists of embedded content from third-party platforms and services.

When you see music, DJ mixes, videos, or other media on DJ.COMMUNITY, you are viewing embedded content from external platforms such as:

  • SoundCloud
  • YouTube
  • Vimeo
  • Dailymotion
  • Mixcloud
  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Flickr
  • Twitter / X
  • And hundreds of other content providers supported by the oEmbed standard

These third-party platforms are responsible for hosting, streaming, and managing access to the content they host. DJ.COMMUNITY is merely displaying embedded content on behalf of these providers.

3. Responsibility for Embedded Content

DJ.COMMUNITY is not responsible for the copyright compliance of embedded content. The responsibility for ensuring that content is properly licensed and does not infringe on copyrights rests entirely with:

  • The content hosting platforms (e.g., SoundCloud, YouTube, Vimeo) where the content is actually stored and served.
  • The content creators and uploaders who upload content to these platforms.
  • The users who embed content on DJ.COMMUNITY, who are responsible for ensuring they have the right to share the content they embed.

If you believe that content hosted on a third-party platform infringes your copyright, you should contact that platform directly to report the infringement. Do not contact DJ.COMMUNITY for content hosted elsewhere.

4. Reporting Copyright Infringement on DJ.COMMUNITY

While DJ.COMMUNITY does not host content, we maintain a platform where users may embed or link to content. If you believe that a user has embedded or linked to content that violates your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you can report it through our reporting system.

4.1 How to Report Infringing Content on Our Platform

To report infringing content on DJ.COMMUNITY:

  1. Locate the post, profile, or content that contains the allegedly infringing material.
  2. Click the "Report" button or link associated with that content.
  3. Select "Copyright Violation" as the reason for the report.
  4. Provide clear details about the infringement, including:
    • Your contact information
    • A description of the copyrighted work
    • A detailed explanation of why you believe it infringes your rights
    • Links to the infringing content and, if possible, proof of your copyright ownership
  5. Submit the report. Our moderation team will review it and take appropriate action.

This reporting system is intended for content on DJ.COMMUNITY itself. If the infringing content is hosted on a third-party platform like YouTube or SoundCloud, please report it directly to that platform.

4.2 Third-Party Platform Reporting

For content you believe infringes your copyright that is hosted on third-party platforms, you must contact that platform directly:

5. DMCA Notices

If you are a copyright owner and believe that your work has been infringed, you may send a written notice to DJ.COMMUNITY's designated agent. To be effective, your notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the copyrighted work that you believe has been infringed
  • Identification of the material that is alleged to be infringing and its location on the platform (if applicable)
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner

Please send your DMCA notice using our contact form.

DJ.COMMUNITY will promptly investigate all valid DMCA notices and take appropriate action, which may include removing content or disabling access to the content in question.

6. User Obligations

Users of DJ.COMMUNITY agree to:

  • Only embed or link to content they have the right to share. You should not embed content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
  • Respect copyrights and intellectual property rights. This includes respecting trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and all other forms of intellectual property.
  • Not circumvent technological measures that prevent unauthorized access to copyrighted works.
  • Not remove or alter copyright notices or other proprietary markings on content.

Violations of these obligations may result in the removal of your content, suspension of your account, or termination of your access to DJ.COMMUNITY.

7. Counter-Notices

If you believe that content you posted has been wrongly removed due to a copyright notice, you may submit a counter-notice to DJ.COMMUNITY. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature
  • Identification of the content that was removed and the location where it appeared
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the content was removed due to misidentification
  • Your name, address, and telephone number
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a federal court and that you will accept service of process from the party who submitted the original copyright notice

Send counter-notices using our contact form.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, DJ.COMMUNITY will provide it to the original copyright holder and may restore the content if the copyright holder does not take legal action.

8. Repeat Infringer Policy

DJ.COMMUNITY maintains a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. Users who repeatedly violate this copyright policy or who submit false DMCA notices may have their accounts permanently suspended or terminated.

9. No Liability for Third-Party Content

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DJ.COMMUNITY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO:

  • Embedded content from third-party platforms
