Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose & Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using DJ.COMMUNITY. It is designed to protect our users, our platform, and the community by prohibiting misuse. This policy applies to all users and all content on the platform.
2. Prohibited Content
You may not post, upload, or share content that is:
- Illegal: Content that violates any local, national, or international law.
- Harmful or Abusive: Content that is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or invasive of another's privacy.
- Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence or incites hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.
- Spam: Unsolicited promotional material, "junk mail," "chain letters," or any other form of duplicative or unsolicited messages.
- Infringing: Content that infringes on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party.
3. Prohibited Conduct
In using our platform, you agree not to engage in:
- Harassment and Bullying: Targeting others with unwanted, repetitive, or abusive behavior.
- Impersonation: Impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting your affiliation with a person or entity.
- System Abuse: Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the platform or the data contained therein.
- Unauthorized Access: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the platform, other accounts, or computer systems or networks connected to the platform.
4. DJ-Specific Rules
DJs and users utilizing the booking system must adhere to the following rules to maintain platform integrity and trust:
4.1 Profile and Information Integrity
- Authentic Profiles: You may not create fake or misleading DJ profiles. All information, including bio, experience, and rates, must be accurate.
- Accurate Pricing: You must provide accurate and current pricing information. Rates listed on your profile should reflect your actual service fees.
- Truthful Availability: Your availability calendar and status must be kept up-to-date and accurate.
- Honest Service Descriptions: All descriptions of your services, equipment, music genres, and capabilities must be truthful and not misleading.
4.2 Booking System Integrity
- No Fake Bookings: You must not create fake bookings, inquiries, or check-ins to manipulate your reputation score or appear more active than you are.
- No False Check-Ins: Check-ins must only be logged for actual events that you attended or performed at. Creating false check-ins is strictly prohibited.
- No False Payment Logs: You must not falsely log manual payments. Payment confirmations should only be logged for payments that were actually received or made.
- No Booking System Manipulation: You may not use the booking system for fraudulent purposes or to artificially boost your profile visibility or reputation.
4.3 Professional Conduct
- Honor Confirmed Bookings: You must honor confirmed bookings or provide reasonable advance notice of cancellation in accordance with any agreements made with the client.
- Prompt Cancellation Communication: If you must cancel a booking, you must communicate the cancellation promptly and professionally to minimize disruption to the client.
- Professional Communication: All communication with clients through the platform must be professional, respectful, and timely.
- No Harassment: You must not use the booking system to harass, abuse, or inappropriately contact other users.
4.4 Reviews and Reputation
- No Review Manipulation: You may not solicit or post fake reviews. Reviews must be from genuine clients for completed bookings.
- No Review Coercion: You may not coerce, pressure, or incentivize clients to leave positive reviews or to remove negative reviews.
4.5 Consequences for Booking-Related Violations
Violations of these booking-related rules may result in:
- Immediate reputation score penalties
- Removal of fake bookings, check-ins, or payment logs
- Temporary or permanent suspension of booking features
- Account suspension or termination
Note: Late cancellations (defined as cancellations made within 7 days of a scheduled event without reasonable justification) may result in automatic reputation penalties. Repeated late cancellations may lead to account restrictions or suspension.
5. Forum-Specific Rules
- Off-Topic Spam: Do not post content that is irrelevant to the designated forum category.
- Trolling: Do not post inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response.
- Derailing Discussions: Do not intentionally steer a conversation away from its original topic.
6. Events and Venues Rules
To maintain the integrity and trustworthiness of event and venue information on DJ.COMMUNITY, all users must adhere to the following rules:
- No Fake or Misleading Events: You must not create, post, or promote fake, fictitious, or misleading event listings. All events must be legitimate and genuine.
- Accurate Venue Information: Venue information, including names, addresses, contact details, and descriptions, must be accurate and truthful. Do not post false or misleading venue information.
- Legitimate Authority Required: You must have legitimate authority or permission to promote an event. Do not create event listings for events you are not authorized to represent or promote.
- No Fraudulent Purposes: Events must not be created for fraudulent, deceptive, or malicious purposes, including but not limited to phishing schemes, scams, or identity theft.
- Update or Remove Changed Events: If an event is cancelled, postponed, or if significant details change (such as date, time, location, or performers), you must promptly update the event listing or remove it from the platform. Failure to maintain accurate event information may result in penalties.
- No Illegal Activities: You must not post events that promote, facilitate, or involve illegal activities, including but not limited to unlicensed events, underage drinking, drug use, or other violations of local, national, or international law.
- No Unauthorized Venue Postings: Do not create or edit venue listings without proper authorization from the venue owner or management.
Violations of these rules may result in immediate removal of content, reputation penalties, and account suspension or termination. DJ.COMMUNITY reserves the right to verify the legitimacy of events and venues and to take appropriate action against users who violate these rules.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate violations of this AUP. We may, at our sole discretion, take actions we deem appropriate, including but not limited to:
- Issuing warnings.
- Removing or disabling access to content.
- Applying reputation penalties.
- Temporarily or permanently suspending or terminating your account.
- Reporting you to law enforcement authorities.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to us immediately using the reporting tools on the platform or by contacting our moderation team via the contact page.
9. Appeals Process
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may appeal the decision by contacting our support team. We will review your appeal and respond in a timely manner, but we are not obligated to overturn our original decision.
